Heaven has a new resident! On Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, Charles O. Bettis (Charlie) went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ. Charlie led a life of unselfishness and dedication to his family and to his Christian faith and he will be greatly missed. Charlie was one of three sons of Odie and Elsie Bettis. He left behind his best friend and wife of 67 years, Virginia Alene, two sons, Christopher Allen and Charles Brian, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was a long standing and faithful member of Hot Springs Baptist Church.

Charlie worked hard all of his life from high school graduation until he finally retired at the age of 77 to become principle caregiver of his beloved wife. Charlie worked as a carpenter, a skilled craftsman, a residential building contractor and the owner of Handyman Hardware store during his long career. He also readily provided his gifted talents to help others whenever asked or he saw their need. Charlie is respected and loved by those who crossed his path over these many years. Most importantly, Charlie loved and always provided for his family, leaving a legacy of his Christian beliefs and character for the multi-generational family members and his friends to remember and carry on in our lives.

Romans 8:28: And we know that God causes "all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

A celebration of Charlie's life will be held noon Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Hot Springs Baptist Church. All are invited to a reception following the service.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in honor of Charlie to Hot Springs Baptist Church, senior's ministry.

The online obituary, guestbook and memorial tribute are available at http://www.GrossFuneralHome.com.
