Beloved mother and grandmother, LaVetta Nadean Wager, 90, of Hot Springs went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. She was born April 2, 1919 in Cambridge, Illinois to the Theron Howard and LaVetta Marie (Renstrom) Chesley. She and her husband, Harold Wager moved to Hot Springs from Huntington Park, California in 1982. They were married 62 years when he passed away in 2002. LaVetta enjoyed crocheting, reading, and writing poetry. She had a beautiful singing voice. LaVetta was a devoted member of First Lutheran Church and her last words spoken to her daughter were Heaven is my home. She is predeceased by her parents and husband, Harold Wager. Loving survivors include her daughter, LaVetta Stallings and husband, Walter, of Pearcy; two sons: William (Bill) Wager and Kenneth Wager, both of Hot Springs; grandchildren: Sharon Stallings Wilfong, of Seattle, Washington; Steven O. Stallings, of Hot Springs; Timothy A. Stallings, of Prescott; and Christine (Star) Wager Kennedy and husband, Sean, of Hot Springs; five great-grandchildren: Jessica and Christopher Wilfong, of Seattle, Washington; Ashley and Christopher Kennedy, of Hot Springs; and Kourtney Stallings, of Mountain Pine. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2010 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Beyer officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bill Sexton, Tim Stallings, Sean Kennedy, Roscoe Jones, and Carl Stallings. Honorary pallbearers are John Wayne Smith and the nurses and staff of Quapaw Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she was living at the time of her death. Arrangements are by Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
