Garland County,
Arkansas

October 1, 1951 - October 15, 2018

Martha Raye Wooddell Livers left this earthly life on October 15, 2018 to be in the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She died in the same way she lived - surrounded by her family. Marty was born on October 1, 1951 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On June 4, 1971, she married Rob Livers at Pearcy Baptist Church, Pearcy, Arkansas.
After graduating from Lake Hamilton High School in 1969, she earned a B.A. in Psychology from Ouachita Baptist University and M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arkansas in 1975. Her most recent occupation was Office Manager for Livers-Calhoun Engineers.
Marty and Rob served at Pearcy Baptist Church as youth leaders and Marty was also the church pianist. Together they taught young adult and international Sunday school classes at First Baptist Church-Little Rock, and later at First Baptist Church-Benton. Marty also led two years at Friendship International in Little Rock. Marty dedicated herself to loving and serving her family and the church. She loved reading the Bible, praying, walking, reading, gardening, cooking, listening to gospel music, watching romantic movies, talking with friends, talking with her sons and daughters-in-law, talking with her sister or brother, but nothing nearly as much as just frequently talking with Joy or loving on her grandkids (that was her hobby!).
Marty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and is survived by: husband Rob; their four children: son Nicholas (wife Amy), son Nathan (wife Marla), son Brooks (wife Stephanie), and daughter Joy, who was her best friend ; her grandchildren: Bella, Sadie, Ira, Shepherd, Owen, Marley, Norah, and Brooklyn; her brother John Wooddell (wife Elaine) ; her sister Portia Oaks (husband Russell) ; nephew Massey Arnold (wife Hannah); nieces: Alex Arnold ; Alison Richardson (husband Steven), Leslie Shepard (husband Brian); her mother-in-law Bernice Livers; sisters-in-law: Terri Bryant (husband Larry), and Lisa Couch (husband Rocky).
Marty was preceded in death by her parents Porter and Murphy Massey, father-in-law Ira E. Livers, and two infant children Christa Robin and John Eric, and grandchildren Halley Livers and Porter Livers.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Friday October 19, 2018 at the Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, with the Celebration at 11:00 am in the Chapel. For helping prolong her life with us here, a special thanks goes to the all the nurses along the journey.
Marty leaves a beautiful legacy of loving and serving Jesus. She is a woman well-loved and hers was a life well-lived. Her smile and pure heart will always be remembered. Rob will miss her just simply clasping her hand in his and holding onto his arm. We give thanks to God for His Indescribable Gift and desire others receive Him, too.
