Earl Jackson Maxey, 77 of Van Buren died Tuesday, July 15, 2003 in his home.He passed away from this life after a long illness. He was retired as a supervisor for harding Glass Plant.He served in the Navy during World War II and was in five major campaigns. He was a certified General Motors and Ford Motors Company Mechanic. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Emma Maxey, and a son, Earl Donald Maxey.

He was survived by his wife, Kathryn of the home of 56 years; a daughter, Shana Maxey of Rogers; a son, David Maxey and his wife, Teresa of Van Buren; three grandchildren, Eric, Tyler and Emily Maxey.

Funeral services were held at Ocker Funeral Home with burial at Salem Cemetery in Cedarville.

Kathryn Patterson Maxey, age 85, of Van Buren passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in her home.
She was born August 23, 1928, in San Benito, Texas.

She was a graduate of University of Arkansas - Fayetteville with a bachelor's degree. She was a dedicated teacher in the Van Buren School District for over 20 years. She attended First Baptist Church Van Buren and was a member of Van Buren Literary Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Earl Jackson Maxey; her son Earl Donald Maxey; one grandson Eric Lyle Maxey; two brothers, John and Charles Patterson.

Funeral will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Salem Cemetery in Cedarville under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.

She is survived by her son David Charles Maxey of Van Buren; her daughter Shana Kay Maxey of Rogers; two grandchildren, Tyler Maxey and Emily Maxey; and one great-granddaughter, Erica Maxey; one sister, Juanita Runyon and one sister-in-law, Shirlene Patterson both of Texas; and beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Friday, July 25, 2014
from 5 - 7 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas.
