November 11, 1932 - February 22, 2019
Phyllis Vanourny, 86, of Chester, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at her home.
She was born November 11, 1932 in New Paris, OH to the late Samuel and Weltha Marker.
She had worked for Walmart in Alma, Westark Community College, C.S.C.D.C. in Fort Smith, and was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary. She was of the Christian faith, and served in the U.S. Navy.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Vanourny; a sister, Anna Mae Sendlebach; and a brother, Samuel Marker.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Vanourny of the home; two sons, Mark Vanourny of Chester, and Darin Vanourny and wife Glenda of Mountainburg; a brother, Dean Marker of Miamisburg, OH; five grandsons, Stephen, Samuel, Elisha, James, and Jeremy Vanourny; and two great-granddaughters, Jayda and Julia Vanourny.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Newberry Cemetery in Alma, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Stephen, Samuel, Elisha, James, and Jeremy Vanourny, and Melvin Dutton.
