April 14, 1927 - November 26, 2015
Velma C. Osborne, 88, of Ozark, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015. She was born April 14, 1927 in Van Buren to the late Paul and Bernice Osborne.
She worked for the Farm Home Administration, and also the Maintenance Department at Fort Chaffee for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Smith, Eastern Star Harmony Chapter #455, Olive Branch Shrine #3, White Shrine of Jerusalem, American Association of Retired Persons Chapter #570, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and was a volunteer at the Phillips Cancer Support House in Fort Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, G. Winton Osborne, Sr.
She is survived by three nieces, Beatrice Stephens-Stuart of Arizona, Irene Ray Smith of Alma, and Evonne Berry and husband Buddy of Alma; a nephew, Buster Osborne and wife Renee of Mountainburg; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with a private committal to follow, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Berry, Buster Osborne, Jimmy Jones, Eddie Haddock, Kendall Wilson, and Ken Wilson.
