Peggy Calhoun Lasiter, age 70 of Wilmar, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019
at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock. She was born August 10, 1948 in
Monticello, AR to the late A. L. Calhoun and Thelma Miles Calhoun.
She was a retired supervisor at Burlington Industries and of the Baptist faith,
attending Pauline Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also
preceded in death by one son, Alan Dewayne Lasiter and one brother, Johnny
Calhoun.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Lasiter of Wilmar; one daughter, Tina Hillyard of Fayetteville; two
sons, Dusty Lasiter of Wilmar and Michael Joe Lasiter and wife Shawn of Monticello; three brothers,
Ralph Calhoun and Jim Calhoun both of the Barkada community and Gerald Calhoun of the Green Hill
community; four sisters, Wanda West of Warren, Barbara Beaty of Monticello; Sandra Parker of Rowell
and Judy Tipton of Conway; four grandsons, Dewayne Norrell and wife Marissa of Little Rock, Nikolas
Hillyard of Bentonville, Noah Gage Hillyard of Fayetteville and Dustin Lasiter and wife Ashley of
Columbia, LA; one granddaughter, Madison Lasiter of Milo; four great-grandchildren, Cecily Brooke,
Bentley Alan, Tandyn Rhette and Tyler Reid.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial
to follow at Andrews Chapel Cemetery. Visitation 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
