Dorothy Jeanell Brown, age 87 of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Belleview Nursing & Rehab in Monticello. She was born June 28, 1928 in Drew County, AR to the late Lee Johns and Cora Mooney Johns.

She was the widow of Virgil L. Brown, a retired employee of Burlington Industries and member of First Assembly of God Church. She was always very active in her church before her health failed. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Forrest and Mary Lasiter; and two brothers, Thomas and Billy Johns.

Survivors include two daughters, Tona McKeiver and husband Donald and Penny Hill all of Monticello; one son, Louis D. Brown of Little Rock; two brothers, James Johns of Lucedale, Mississippi and Carlis Johns of Monticello; three sisters, Elizabeth Word of Wilmar, Juanita Hartness of Greenbrier and Sudie Golden of Ashdown; three grandchildren, Casey and Channa Hill and Cody Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Presley Kate Hill.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 4 in Andrews Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
