Huey T. Provence, of Locke Community in Crawford County, passed away from this life on March 21, 2015. He was 82 years of age.
Born to Tom and Melissa Rush Provence on January 30, 1933 in Bidville, he was the 10th of 11 children.

On May 14, 1952 he married Frances Allen of the Locke Community. They had two children, Gary and Brenda. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service. He loved hunting and enjoyed making a large garden.

Huey was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles, James, Frank and Glenn Provence, and sisters, Mildred Parker and Hazel Wood.

He is survived by Frances, his wife of 62 years of the home, son, Gary Provence and wife Patti of Locke; daughter, Brenda Sanders and husband Rocky, also of Locke; Grandchildren, Chris Provence, Bobbie Sue Morris, Ricky Sanders, Mira Cowett and Candi Looper; Great Grandchildren, Paige and Alex Morris, Josh and Tristan Sanders, Isaac, Levi and Caed Cowett, Gracie and Devyn Looper. Also his brother Ora Provence and wife Mary of Bidville; Sisters, Reba Harrison of Prairie Grove, Ava Jean Jackson and husband Jack of Mountainburg, Ella Mae Baker of Elkins; and sisters-in-law, Lorene Provence of Elkins and Flossie Provence of Alma; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at the Bidville Community Church on Tuesday, March 24th, 2015, 10:00am with Pastor Bobby Reinschmeidt and Darrell Williams officiating. Burial will be at Bidville Cemetery.

Frances
May 3, 1935 - May 15, 2021

Frances Leona Allen Provence was born May 3, 1935 and went home to Heaven on May 15, 2021.
She had lived 86 years. Frances was born in the Locke Community in Crawford County to Ernest and Minnie Allen. She was the 8th of 10 children.

She married Huey Provence on May 14, 1952. They had 2 children, Gary Don and Brenda Kay. Frances always had a big garden. She canned and froze vegetables for the winter, fed her family well and gave away any excess. Frances loved to piece quilts and then hand quilt them. She was an excellent quilter, making tiny even stitches. She made many quilts, giving each of her children and grandchildren special ones made just for them. Frances was a Christian who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She attended Locke churches faithfully and helped with anything she could. She made sure both her children learned about Jesus and prayed for them and their families all the time.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband Huey; brothers Carl, Harold, Clarence and Howard Allen and sisters, Trella Reeves, Flora Beckett, Janie Parr and Jewel Ray.

Survivors include her children, Gary Provence and wife Patti and Brenda Sanders and husband Rockie all of the Locke Community; grandchildren Chris Provence, Bobbie Sue Julian, Rick Sanders, Mira Cowett and Candice Luper; great grandchildren Paige Morris, Alex Morris, Josh Sanders, Tristan Sanders,Isaac Cowett, Levi Cowett, Caed Cowett, Gracen Luper and Devyn Luper; brother Marion Allen of Moravian Falls, NC and many nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends and loved ones.

Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Locke Freewill Baptist Church with interment at Bidville Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers will be Mike Reeves, Wesley Parr, Wade Parr, Eugene Provence, Justin Allen and Randall Shepherd.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Blain, Glenn Evans, Dale Allen, Chris Provence and Rick Sanders.
