Thurman "Pete" Campbell, 65, of Mountainburg died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1941, in Bidville. He was a member of Locke Freewill Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Mountainburg Post, an Army veteran and a truck driver.
He is survived by a daughter, Carla Campbell of Texas; a son, Edward Campbell of Texas; three sisters, Geneva Shepherd of Winslow, Josephine Reed of Mountainburg and Lois Holt of Ringo, Ga.; two brothers, Jerry Campbell of Mountainburg and Denver Campbell of Blufton; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 10 at Locke Community Building with burial and military honors at Bidville Cemetery in Crawford County under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma.
Pallbearers were Jimmie Blaine, Myrl Mars, Frank and Brad Payton, Raymond Miller, Randy Beller and Clyde Moore.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Mountainburg VFW Post.
