Faydra Mackey, 84, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 23, 2012. She was born October 2, 1927 in Pike County, Arkansas to the late Leland and Callie A. (Trout) Boyd. Faydra loved her Lord, was continually reading books about her Savior and was a long time member of Hot Springs Baptist Church. Her favorite movie was “Sound of Music” and she might be found at 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. watching it or a tennis tournament on television. She was a woman of sound and firm decisions with a contagious laugh; she could make a plan and execute it with love and affection. Faydra is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Mackey. She is survived by her sons – Danny Mackey (Kathi) and John Mackey both of Hot Springs; grandchildren Jeremy Mackey (Kristal) of Hot Springs, Alyssa Gibson (Codi Hood) of Bismarck, and Jordan Watts of Hot Springs; and great-grandchildren Jacob Houston Mackey, Aiden Lee Gibson and Noah Drake Hood. Visitation will be from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Service will be at 9:00 a.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Pounders officiating.
