Sue C. Jennings, 90, of Hot Springs died on Friday, January 8, 2016 at a local hospital. She was born on October 25, 1925 to the late Edward “Scottie” McWilliams and Charlotte A. Byrom McWilliams in Raubsville, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by a son, Harold H. Schwartz, Jr., five siblings: Theodora “Red” Pavey, Dorothea “Dot” McKnight, Patricia Gill, Edward McWilliams, and James McWilliams. She preceded in death, a daughter-in-law, Lois M. Bergfels Schwartz by one day.

Survivors include a son, Walter Schwartz, three daughters, Susan Schwartz, Patti Thomas(Clett), Nancy Hull (Phil), and a son, Richard McWilliams, all of Hot Springs; fourteen grandchildren, Walter Schwartz, Jr., Susan Spradling, Brenda Graves, Jay Irwin, Lee Engle, Zach Maxwell, Philip Hull, II, Corie Devore, Matthew Hull, Luke Maxwell, Hannah Hull, David Alford, Abby Thomas, and Kolton Thomas; twenty-two great grandchildren; A brother, Larry McWilliams, of Hot Springs, a sister Virginia Steeber, of Luray, Virginia, many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

In her earlier years, she played basketball and ran track in school. She was on a travelling dance team and grew up to become a Radio City Rockette in New York City during WWII in the 1940’s. She worked as the head chef of St. Joseph’s Hospital where she retired from after 17 years and continued working until the age of 80 at the Dollar General Store.

She was an avid cook and loved making many dishes for family and friends, like her famous “Macaroni and Cheese” and “Squash Pie”, which was awarded Grand Champion of the Garland County Fair, and 1st place in the Arkansas State Fair. She never met a stranger, and was friendly to all and was a wonderful storyteller of her life’s events that people enjoyed listening to. She was loved by many people.

Pallbearers will be her eight grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be: her doctor, Dr. Jenny Navarro, M.D., ER and ICU staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital, Arkansas Hospice, Hank Moore family, Willie Speers family, and John Hawthorn family.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, and the service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with son-in law, Reverend Phil Hull officiating

Burial will be in Hot Springs at Crestview Cemetery under the direction of Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
