Husband of Nancy Hamblin Sims
During the war of 1812, he served in Captain Jones' Company under Col. John Williams as a private, also as a Private in Captain Joseph Brock's Company of Cavalry, for Madison County, Virginia Militia. His service was from July 30, 1814 until January 25, 1815.
In 1818, he married Rachel Muckelroy, daughter of Michael McWreath, they had eight children.
After his wife died, he married Nancy Hamblin. At some point, they showed up in Arkansas where some of George's children lived.
