Naomi Sara McCarta, 87, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born April 9, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Mustasa Samhat and Ada (Carsten) Samhat. Naomi is preceded in death by her parents; husband T. J. “Mac” McCarta, brother Ollie Samhat, and sister Virginia Hassan. She is survived by her son, Greg Huegel (Jeannie) of Hot Springs; daughters Donna Kassidakos of Florida and Annette Grinnis (Richard) of Hot Springs; step-sons Jeff McCarta (Sandra), Kelvin McCarta (Linda), Mark McCarta (Mary) and Danny Jo McCarta; and step-daughter Tammy Wheelis (Jerry) all of Florida; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Chaplain Doc Kenser officiating. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Genesis Cancer Center and Arkansas Hospice for the special care given to their mother. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital or Arkansas Hospice.
