Lucille Nowell, 87, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2015. She was born October 25, 1928 in Thomasville, Alabama. She was one of seven children born to James Henry and Lucy Ann Baugh. Lucille was a devoted member of Winans Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. She truly was a kind and loving person, a born again Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart.
Lucille and her husband, Lamar, enjoyed arts and crafts. They traveled the states of Arkansas and Mississippi attending Arts and Crafts Fairs. She was an exceptional seamstress and quilter. Her work was meticulous. Lucille’s hand sewn cathedral window quilt is a cherished possession of daughter-in-law, Joyce’s. Lucille also enjoyed reading.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Clifton Dean, Sr., husband, Lamar Nowell, four brothers, Jim, Mac, Daniel and Charles, two sisters, Ida and Mary Ellen.
Loving survivors include son, Clifton (Joyce) Dean, Jr. of Hot Springs, Arkansas; son, David (Susan) Dean of East End, Arkansas; grandsons, David, Jason and Jeff Dean; and great-granddaughter, Kreia Giffin Dean.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Arkansas Hospice for their wonderful care of Lucille.
Visitation is 10:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Herbert Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
