Philip "Pop" Arguello, age 75, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, March 7, 2013. He was born on January 14, 1938 in Taos, New Mexico. On November 15, 1959, he married Joyce Smith, his one true love, whom he loved strong…"Strong like a caterpillar." He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Arguello; and one brother-in-law, Jack Colbert. Philip worked as an electrician in the uranium mines of New Mexico for Kerr-McGee. After moving his family to Hot Springs in 1973, he worked for Industrial Enterprises Inc., Weyerhaeuser, Pirelli Cable and later started his own company, Arguello Construction Company. He was a member of River of Life Church of God, the National Rifle Association, and the English Muffin Coffee Crew. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Arguello of Hot Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Eddie Livingston of Hot Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Becky Arguello of Hot Springs and Pastor Lance and Angelia Arguello of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Duran Crone, Blake Livingston, Cody Livingston, Alexis Arguello, Derek Arguello and Kaden Arguello; two brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Dwight and Ivonia Smith of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Winona Colbert of Jackson, Mississippi, Mavis and Irv Troyer and Naomi Smith, all of Hot Springs. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 11, 2013 at River of Life Church of God, 1555 E. Grand Avenue, Hot Springs with Pastor Ben Wiles and Pastor Mark Lyle officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Sunday afternoon, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Cody Livingston, Kaden Arguello, Brayden Truelove, Daniel Garcia, Nick Younger, Kirk Arnaud, Jimmy Jack Montgomery and Keith Brey. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hood, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nalls, Jimmy Watts, Mr. and Mrs. Skip Houston, McLemore family, Dearmon family, Judy and Amber Garcia, Dr. Troy Oxner and staff, the English Muffin Coffee Crew, River of Life Church members and M.
