Mrs. Hester Baker, aged 67, died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Oscar Steelman, at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. She is survived by one son James H. Baker, of Camden; six daughters, Mrs. Neeley Womack and Mrs. James Brian of Camden, Mrs. Vernon Byrd of Eagle Mills, Mrs. Louise Patterson of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Guy Farley of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Mrs. John Barber of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Will and Henry Burks of Locust Bayou; and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services will be announced later, pending arrival of relatives. Mathis Funeral Home will be in charge. (Camden News - April 16, 1948)
