*When Simon Pannel McKown was born on January 14, 1836, in South Carolina, his father, James, was 28 and his mother, Caladonia, was 18. He married Sarah in 1856. They had seven children in 17 years. He died on December 20, 1915, in Hot Spring, Arkansas, having lived a long life of 79 years.
