Debbie (Debora Anne) Kelly Itzo, 48, died on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born June 24, 1967, in Topeka, Kan., to James and Lucille Kelly.

She was the vice president for National Surgical Healthcare and had been with that company for the past seven years.

She is survived by her husband, Lars Erik Itzo; her parents, James A. Kelly and Anne Kelly; a brother, David Kelly and wife, Stacy; and aunts, Patsy Ford, Mabel Lour and Vickie Bolton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Breast Cancer Awareness or Battered Women's Charity.

A service was held Friday, October 16, 2015, at the Porter Loring North Chapel, San Antonio. A reception followed in the Porter Loring North Reflection Room.

NOTE: Debbie Kelly Itzo was shot & killed outside her bedroom door. The shooter, her husband, Lars Itzo claims that he thought his wife was an intruder breaking into their home just before dawn.

Itzo told police that he thought he heard multiple people coming in the front door of his Stone Oak home. He told investigators that when he heard his dog growling, he quickly grabbed a shotgun from his nightstand & as he approached the doorway to the bedroom, he fired when he saw a silhouette about four feet away.

The only other person inside the home was his wife. She died on scene from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

San Antonio police arrested Itzo on October 21st, 2015.

March 3, 2016 Today a Bexar County Grand Jury indicted Lars Itzo in connection to the deadly shooting of his wife, Debbie Kelly Itzo. Grand juror's returned an indictment for Count 1-Murder & Count 2-Manslaughter in connection to the case. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing his wife. The jury found him guilty of manslaughter, but not guilty of murder after a week-long trial.
