Wife of Elie C Staples
June 24, 1886 - August 14, 1965
Mrs. Elizabeth Watkins Staples, 79, died Saturday at her home, 1401 D Avenue. Mrs. Staples was born June 24, 1886 the daughter of Ned and Metilda Watkins. She had been a resident of El Dorado all of her life. Her membership was at Evergreen Baptist Church. In 1903 she married Eli Cornelius Staples who preceded her in death. Her survivors include four sons, Willie Staples, Detroit, Mich., Roosevelt Staples, Beaumont, Tex., James Staples and Herod Staples both of El Dorado; one daughter, Miss Thelma Staples, El Dorado; one brother, Ebbie Watkins, El Dorado; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Ever Green Baptist Church, Rev. Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Lot Burgy under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.
