Mattie Mae Kidd, 78, of El Dorado and formerly of Smackover, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. Born on June 21, 1936, in Summerfield, La., she was the daughter of Timothy Richardson and Ruby Mae Miller. She attended Wesson Street Church of God in Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carlean Bell; one grandchild, Kaleb Bell; one sister, Mary Louise Carson; three brothers, James W. Holmes, Charles Holmes and Tyrone McElroy.

Survivers include three sons, Jimmy Holmes, of Savannah, Ga., Randy Holmes, of Shreveport, La., and Henry L. Kidd Jr., of El Dorado; four daughters, Earlene Taylor, Jazzman Kidd and Brenda Ford, all of El Dorado, and Carnesa Kidd, of Arkadelphia; four brothers, James Holmes Sr., of Minneapolis, Minn., the Rev.G.E. “Gene Earl” McElroy, of Little Rock, Terry Holmes, of Dallas, and Clifford McElroy, of Smackover; five sisters, Ruby Jean Aubrey and Florence McCoun, both of Texarkana, Texas, Martha Randall Gloria Hunter, of Texarkana, Ark., and Sue Allen, of Smackover; 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A public viewing will be held from 1-5 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Andrews Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Douglas Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. G.E. McElroy officiating. Burial will be in Lott Burgy Cemetery.

Andrews Funeral Home, Inc., of El Dorado, is in charge of the arrangements.
