Mrs. Edith Younger died Monday in a Smackover hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Younger was born in daughter of Mrs. Georgia Ann Polk. At an early age she joined St. Mark Baptist Church, Upland, Ark. On moving to El Dorado she joined New Bethel Baptist Church. In 1908 she was married to Levi Garrett. To this union two children were born. Her second marriage was in 1915 to Hosea Younger. To this union eight children were born. Her survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Smith, El Dorado, and Mrs. Doris Dismuke, Berkely, Calif.; one son, Hosea Younger, Jr, Richmond, Calif.; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in New Bethel Baptist Church, Rev. J. F. Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Lot Burgy Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until funeral time at the church. (El Dorado Times - March 18, 1966)
