February 26, 1930 - December 29, 2015
Ben Lucius Fields, 85, of El Dorado died recently at his home.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1930 in El Dorado, the son of George and Centery Jones Fields. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He served in the Army. He worked and retired from Chrysler Corp. in Detroit after 30 years of service. While in Detroit, he was a member of Second Baptist Church where he was a choir member. After returning to El Dorado, he became a member of First Baptist Church on Cordell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Clarence Fields, Jim Sheppard Fields and Billy Gene Fields.
Survivors include one sister, Georgia Lee McIntyre of Chesapeake, Va.; seven nieces, Sabrina Fields, Cynthia Fields, Kim Fields, Sharon Fields, Denise McIntyre, Karen McIntyre and Gail McIntyre; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at Andrews Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Garland W.Willis officiating.
