Kenneth Wayne Hicks, 82, of Bald Knob went to be with the Lord at his home on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was born on May 27, 1935 at the Hicks Homestead to the late Amos and Pauline (Hulsey) Hicks.
He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Anna Jean (Smith) Hicks, three daughters, Deborah Brown (Steve), Cheryl Burns, and Darla Ino (Masa); eight grandchildren, Andrea Bidwell (Brian), Rachel Varnell (Michael), Bradley Burns (Theresa), Brandon Burns (Mandi), Sonya Raper (Ronnie), Amber Smith (Kevin), Andrew Ino, and Benjamin Ino; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, JoAnn Nelson (Roger), and two brothers, Jerry Hicks (Yvonne), and Jacky Hicks (Susan). He is preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Dennis Burns. He was a Korean War Veteran and a retired rancher. He loved to travel and meet new friends. He was of the Pentecostal faith. His desire was to leave a legacy of love for God and his family, and he shared God's Word with anyone who would listen. He was a Bible scholar and teacher who faithfully read and studied the Word. Through his teachings, many were influenced to be a follower of Christ. He was a caring and compassionate man always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Hicks Cemetery.
