January 6, 1954 - January 15, 2020
Dora Darlene Atkins, 66, of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born January 6, 1954 in Jonesboro, LA.
She was former owner of Lipsey’s Sandwich Shop and was a member of Marrable Hill Chapel. She loved traveling and going on cruises, and playing bunco. Darlene most of all loved her family. She never met a stranger, and as Terry Tucker commented, “by her second day in Heaven, she will know everybody and their children’s names”.
She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Reed.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Atkins; daughter, Sonja Craig; son, James Atkins (Morgan) all of El Dorado; her mother, Dora Marglean Neal Reed; sisters, Ellon Neatherland (J.R), Geneva May (Bubba); brothers, Bud Reed (Linda), Michael Reed; grandchildren, Katelyn Ham, Victoria Bell, Haley Bell, Hayden Morris, Cecelia Atkins, Sullivan Atkins; great grandchild, Khylin McDuffie; brother-in-law, Tim Atkins (Ginny); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Young’s.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Marrable Hill Chapel with Rev. Jeff Jackson officiating. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
The family will be at the Atkins residence at 1213 Parkers Chapel Rd. in El Dorado
