PARIS James Horace Oliver, 83, of Paris, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Assembly of God. He was the widower of Retta Mae Casey Oliver. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roller Chapel in Paris with burial at McVay Cemetery in Paris. He is survived by three sons, Jerry Oliver of Clarksville, James Oliver of Russellville and Billy Oliver of Dardenelle; a sister Ester Reel of Paris; a brother, Raymond Oliver of Orville, Wash.; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Paul Green, Darrell Turner, Butch James, Scotty Oliver, Wesley Oliver and Zachary Oliver. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Retta Mae Oliver, 79, of Paris, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, in Fort Smith.
She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church, a daughter of the late Solly and Anna Quary Casey, and was preceded in death by two grandsons, Todd and Jim Oliver; and four brothers, Elmer, Curtis, Jess and Delmer Casey.
Survivors include her husband, James Horace Oliver; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Evelyn Oliver of Clarksville,AR/ James and Carlene Oliver of Russellville, AR.and Billy Don and Margaret Oliver of Dardanelle, AR.; three sisters, Wanda Adams and Imogene Austin of Seminole, Okla., and Arletta Hensley of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Andrea Turner of Ozone, Christina Sisco of Morrilton, Tommie McMunn of Little Rock,AR. Michael Oliver, Malissa Haulmark and April Haulmark, all of Dardanelle, AR. and Scotty Oliver and Angela Countryman, both of Russellville, AR.; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
