August 22, 1898 - May 9, 1968
Aaron Alexander Pittman, 69, of 802 S. Murphy St. died in a local hospital Thursday morning. Born Aug. 22, 1898 in Union County, Ark., he was the son of Robert and Della Hinson Pittman. He was a retired city employe and a member of the Goodwin Field Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pennie Smallwood Pittman; five sons, John Pittman, James Pittman, Charles Pittman, Edward Pittman and Jerry Pittman, all of El Dorado; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Slaughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Gardner and Miss Violet Pittman, all of El Dorado and Mrs. Eva Harris, Texas City, Tex.; two brothers, John A. Pittman of Luling, La. and Demp Pittman, Magnolia; 27 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Parkers Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Hollis Ables and the Rev. C. F. Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be John Pittman, Jr., Donald Pittman, Raymond Pittman, Clyde Slaughter, Monroe Slaughter and Stanley Slaughter. (El Dorado Times - May 10, 1968)
