John Leo Hooten, 69, of Winslow, died Tuesday in a Fayetteville nursing home. Born Oct. 31, 1910, in Brentwood, he was the son of Mikel and Flora Brown Hooten. He was a retired laborer and a life time resident of the Winslow area, and a member of the First Baptist Church there.
Survivors are two brothers, Orley of Winslow; and Lisle of Norman, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Albert (Nellie) Bivens of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Winslow with burial in Brentword Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
