James Edward Hooten, 55, died last night in a local hospital. He was born May 19, 1906 at Winslow, the son of Michael and Flora Hooten, and was a life long resident of that community. Survivors are five brothers, Lyle of Norman, Okla., Orley of Winslow, Leo of Fort Madison, Iowa, and D. S. Hooten of Kent, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Bivens of Fayetteville; Mrs. Mae Williams of Winslow and Mrs. Sophie Cosand of Crane, Mo. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brentwood Church. Burial will he in Brentwood Cemetery under direction of Moore's Chapel.
