*When John Andrew Jackson "AJ" Hughes was born on July 11, 1828, in McMinnville, Tennessee, his father, Harden, was 37 and his mother, Sarah, was 33. He married Mary Polly Kelley-Hughes in July 1845 in Tennessee, Arkansas. He then married Sarah Elizabeth Marsh-Hughes and they had 14 children together. He died on February 23, 1900, in Letona, Arkansas, at the age of 71, and was buried there.
