James Charles Butler, 71, of Jacksonville died Saturday, May 5, 2012. He was born January 2, 1941 in Paris, Arkansas to the late James Marvin and Mary Corene Walker Butler. Mr. Butler served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1964 and received the Good Conduct Medal. He later attended Arkansas Tech and worked as a finance manager and construction manager. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Martin "Barney" Shefcyk.

Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Carmen Shefcyk Butler; three children, Stephanie Dunn and her husband, John of Stockbridge, Georgia, Ashley Davis and her husband, Dustin of North Little Rock and James C. Butler II and his wife, Jennifer of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; three sisters, Judy Fitzjurls and her husband, Don, Laurene Schluterman and Marvene Low. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Alice Shefcyk as well as six grandchildren, Aaron, Adam and Allie Dunn, Griffin and Owen James Davis and Jackson Butler and soon to arrive, Jenna Claire Butler.

A memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136 with Reverend Andrea Allen officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris, Arkansas.
