Marilyn Joyce WEATHERTON

Saint Joseph's Catholic Cemetery
Logan County,
Arkansas

April 13, 1948 - September 24, 2015

Marilyn Joyce (Neumeier) Weatherton was born April 13, 1948 to Leo T. and Irene (Miller) Neumeier. She grew up in Paris, Arkansas, met and later married Carl Weatherton on May 8, 1965. She was a loving wife, and dedicated partner as she travelled with her husband wherever his work sent him. Carl and Marilyn settled in Beresford, SD in the spring of 1976 to raise their children.

Marilyn was a loving mother, enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, especially iris, raising horses and helping out with numerous band suppers, school fund raisers, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Saddle Club and watching her son and grandson in football. She loved having her children and their friends around the house, cheering them on in sports or watching them have fun in their pool or on their lake, winter, spring, summer and fall. She was mom to everyone, loved cooking and spoiling anyone that walked through the door.

She worked as Secretary/Treasurer for Weatherton Contracting Co., Inc. for 22 years, and was quick to offer help or a kind smile to everyone. You could always count on a nice conversation, either downtown on a sidewalk or in the aisle of the grocery store, and she was proud to tell you about her kids, grand kids and new great-granddaughter.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Carl Weatherton; her daughters, Carleen Weatherton of Sioux Falls and Linda (Matt Copeland) Weatherton of Las Vegas, NV; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Michelle (McLaughlin) Weatherton of Beresford; 4 grandchildren, Chris Weatherton, Jaelynne Weatherton, Darian Merrigan and Caitlyn Weatherton; 1 great-granddaughter, Preslee Rae Weatherton; and 1 sister, Linda (Neumeier) Johnson of Beresford, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters Geraldine Lux, Rose Catherine Wilhite, Phyllis Lensing, Molly Forst, and brothers Leo J. Neumeier and Robert (Bob) Neumeier.
