When Luther Damon McMullen was born on October 7, 1927, in New Albany, Mississippi, his father, Jessie, was 34 and his mother, Homer, was 26. He married Delta Mae Morris on May 28, 1949, in Cross, Arkansas. He died on November 14, 1992, in Jacksonville, Arkansas, at the age of 65.
