Morris Harold "Moss" Holloway, 93 of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday September 4, 2018 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.
He was born September 24, 1924 in Alicia, AR to John M. and Florence Covington Holloway. He was a Navy veteran and served as a hospital corpsman on the USS Solace in the South Pacific. He worked at Caterpillar tractor company in Peoria, IL in 1950. He also worked at G.E. in Jonesboro for 32 years. He lived on highway 91 near Egypt until 1978, then moved to Jonesboro area. He was a member of the American Legion and attended the Washington Avenue Church of Christ.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Otis; and 5 sisters, Edith, Ethel, Mildred, Margaret, & Anna Belle.
He is survived by his wife, Avis Lawson Holloway of South Wind Heights, Jonesboro, whom he married August 19, 1949; daughters, Sherry Morgan & husband Ed of Powhatan, and Regina Escue & husband Scott of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Holly Wilson & husband Khris, April Morgan, Ashley Whittingham & husband Kevin, Derek Escue & wife Lauryn, and Eric Escue; and great grandchildren, Kanyon, Cole, Remi, Nola, and Barrett.
Visitation is Friday September 7, 2018 from 12:00PM-1:00PM at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
Funeral services are Friday September 7, 2018 at 1:00PM at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Steve Norris officiating.
Burial is in Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge & Lynn, Arkansas.

Avis Pauline Holloway, 91 (91 years 11 months 25 days) of Jonesboro, passed from this life at Craighead Nursing Center.
She was born December 6, 1929 in the Eaton Community to Alva & Alma Helms Lawson. After graduating from Hoxie in 1948, she went to work at the garment factory in Walnut Ridge. She married Morris Holloway on August 19, 1949. She was a member of the Oak Grove Home Demonstration Club and was a homemaker. She lived in the Egypt and Oak Grove area before moving to Jonesboro in the late 70's. After moving to Jonesboro, she attended Washington Ave Church of Christ. She loved working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva & Alma Lawson; husband, Morris Holloway; brothers, Thomas C. & J. D. Lawson; and sisters, Alpha Freeman, Alvalene Mitts, & Kathleen Lampton.
Avis is survived by daughters, Sherry (Ed) Morgan of Powhatan and Regina (Scott) Escue of Jonesboro; sisters, Alta Hill, Margaret (Charles) Broadway, Linda (Phil) Carter, & Charlene (Ronnie) Clark; sister-in-law, Connie Lawson; grandchildren, Holly (Khris) Wilson April Morgan, Ashley (Kevin) Whittingham, Derek (Lauryn) Escue, & Eric (Brittani) Escue; great grandchildren, Kanyon Wilson, Cole Escue, Haze Escue, Nola Escue, Remi Whittingham, & Barrett Whittingham; and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday December 4, 2021 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM in the House-Gregg funeral chapel Saturday December 4, 2021 with Steve Norris officiating and Steve Prestidge, song leader.
Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge & Lynn, AR.
