Son of Bee Andy Smith and Lillie May Seyfert Smith.
On Saturday nights Don enjoyed going to horse sales and he was well loved in the horse community. He traded horses and loved to whittle. He was known as the “Gaited Horse King” by many. His true passion was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. Don did not give advice unless he was asked for it and when he did he spoke with well thought words to get his family on the right path.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Michael Smith and Chance (Amber) Butchner; two brothers: James (Ann) Smith and Roland(Edna) Davis; and three sisters: Betty Bramel, Emma (Bobby) Freeman, and Anna (Levon) Bean .
Don is survived by his spouse of 35 years Deloris (Rye) Smith of Clarksville, AR; daughters: Rolana Havener of Little Rock, AR. and Chanda and Jonathan Wisdom of Van Buren; one son, Tim and Cheryl Smith of Lamar; daughter in-law Amber Butchner of Altus, AR.; grandchildren: Tona Castillo, Miranda Elder, Chelsey Butchner, Carter Wisdom, Jessica Hampton, Derek Smith, Colton Smith, Devan Bauer, Makayla Smith and Wyatt Butchner; great grandchildren: Seth Castillo, Aiden Castillo, Ava Castillo, Keith Elder, Kira Elder, Ayla Smith, Tommy Kimberling, and Reed Hampton; three brothers: Jack, Johnny and Gary Smith; one sister Peggy (Emmet) Corlew.
Visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 15, 2019 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Power. Special music by Jeremy Williams accompanied by Judith Bean. Burial follows in the Stillwell Cemetery. Pallbearers are Aaron Ring, Wayne Smith, B.J. Smith, Kevin Freeman, Philip Corlew, Johnny Willis, and Bradley Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are Glen Pitts, Gary Thompson, Bob Weathers, Donald Sams, Jack Young, Dwaine Langdon, Jody Copper, and Gary Pierce.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
