August 29, 1905 - December 13, 1976
Chester Sams, 68, of Riverside Courts, died Wednesday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church at Buena Vista with the Rev. E. Butler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home. He was a life-long resident of Stephens and a member of the Buena Vista church. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Nazrine Bryant of Stephens and Mrs. Birdie Allen of Louisville and two brothers, George Sams and Charlie Sams, both of Camden. (Camden News - December 18, 1976)
