Ms. Annie Marie Sams was born June 11, 1954, to Ocie L. Sams Watson and Moses Edwards in St. Louis, Missouri. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, George and Mary Sams. She transitioned from this life on March 11, 2021, at her home. She is preceded in this transition by her parents, grandparents, sister, brother and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Annie attended Northside Elementary. She graduated from Camden High School in 1972. She attended Southern State College, now known as Southern Arkansas University. After returning from a brief stay in St. Louis, she returned home to Camden where she worked for many years. She ended her work career with her retirement from Ouachita County Department of Human Services in 2019.
She leaves to cherish her memory to two sisters, Lizzie Reed and Shirley Carson. Two nieces, LaTonya Reed and Sonja Lee. Two nephews, Anthony Carson and Corey Carson. A host of great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She also leaves a special friend, Mrs. Doris Williams.
