When William Carl Benton and his twin sister Melissa were born on March 31, 1882, in Antioch, Arkansas, their father, Frances, was 21, and their mother, Mary, was 20. He married Lucto O Vivian Burrows-Benton on October 7, 1906. They had eight children in 14 years. He died on January 3, 1957, in Antioch, Arkansas, at the age of 74, and was buried in Beebe, Arkansas.
