Sharon Ray Watts, 73 of Greenbrier, died peacefully in her sleep at home on September 30, 2016 surrounded by her loving husband, children, and grandchildren. Sharon was born to Omar and Jean James, July 31, 1943 in Conway, Arkansas.
She graduated North Little Rock High School in 1961. It was in North Little Rock that she raised her 3 children, Deanna Houston Boerjan, Sherry Houston and Matt Houston. Sharon and her family founded and maintained Liquigas, LP for 45 years.
In 1983 she married Darrell Watts in spite of his persistent practical jokes and inappropriate placement of dead fish. They spent the next 33 years making a home, building a life and enjoying country living with their pets. She and Darrell enjoyed running their dogs in the fields behind their home while gazing at their scenic red barn nestled in the rolling hills of Greenbrier. Sharon never knew a stray animal. They were all fed, loved and given a lifetime home.
Sharon was the epitome of a gentle Southern woman, always displaying grace, kindness and hospitality. Due to her culinary challenges she kept the cleanest kitchen in the state, while indulging her penchant for high heeled fashionable footwear. No one else on earth could have loved and cherished their family more than Sharon. She was a beautiful daughter, tolerant wife, patient mother, and over indulgent grandmother.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Darrell Watts, daughters Deanna Houston Boerjan and Robert Boerjan of St Petersburg, Florida, Sherry Houston of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Son Matt Houston of East End Arkansas. Grandchildren Colton Boerjan and Sam Boerjan of the Republic of Texas, Tessa Rivera of Hot Springs Arkansas. Step daughter Dana Bryant of NLR. Beagle Josie and Mutt Buddy from the foot of the bed.
She is preceded in death by parents Omar and Jean James, Infant son Trey and step-son Jerry Watts.
Visitation will be October 3, 2016 from 6 to 8pm at Bishop - Crites Funeral Home.
Services will be October 4, 2016 at 1pm at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Knoxville Cemetery.
