Paul Curtis Morrison was born March 30, 1929 in Montague, TX to Henry J. and Elizabeth (Cowan) Morrison.
He was the youngest son of 3 children, Luther Thomas and Henry Milton Morrison.

Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 26th, 1946 and retired from the 84th Engineering Battalion as a heavy equipment operator and lastly as a cook. Upon his retirement he returned to Texas as a cook where he met and on September 7, 1979, he married Ida Marie Demmitt. Paul and Marie made their home in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

There were no children born to the union, but Marie’s children considered him Dad & Grandpa.

Paul was preceded in death by his spouse, Marie, his parents, siblings, step-children, Katherine, Charles, Doris and Darrell Chavers.

He is survived by step-grandchildren, Dustin & Darren Childers, Jeremiah & Timothy Pernhaligon, Amanda Holman, Shannon Melton, Tye Cables, Joe Cowell, Brandie Yates, and Amy Chavers; as well as several step great-grandchildren.

Paul spent his final days in Baldwin City, KS at Morningstar Care Homes where his pleasant and optimistic outlook was deeply loved. A brave soldier, loving parent and kind man went home and will be sorely missed.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, January 6, 2020 at Humphrey Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 7th, 2020 at Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville.

CLARKSVILLE — Marie Morrison, 76, of Knoxville died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Countryside Manor.

Born March 29, 1935, in Woodard County, Okla., she was a high school graduate, member of the Knoxville Bethel Baptist Church and preceded in death by two daughters, Katherine Kuykendahl and Doris Cables; one brother, Jimmy Dimmitt; and one sister, Norma Pearce.

Survivors include her husband, Paul; two sons, Charles Chavers and Darrell Chavers, both of Mangum, Okla.; two sisters, Dorothy Bennett of Rantoul, Kan., and Margaret Barnes of Baldwin City, Kan.; one brother, Charles Demmitt of Baldwin City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20 at Bethel Baptist Church in Knoxville with Rev. Terry Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-5 p.m. today at Hardwicke Funeral Home, Clarksville.
