Billy Gene Hobgood, 72, of Clarksville died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.
He was retired from the military, Army veteran of the Korean War, Baptist, and son of the late C. D. and Littie Redding Hobgood.
Survivors include his widow, Rose Marie Meek Hobgood; one daughter, Jeanie Marie Hobgood of Fayetteville; one son, Timathy Hobgood of Spring Boro, Ohio; one brother, Troy Hobgood of Hot Springs; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Burial with military honors was at Lamar Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Charles Wharton, Nathan Lewis, Roger Funk, Roy Shook, Larry Morgan, and Marc Lawrence.
Honorary pallbearer was Troy Hobgood.

Rose Marie Hobgood, age 79, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Fayetteville.
She was born November 2, 1934 in Mountain Pine, Arkansas, the daughter of Omer and Katie Radford Meek.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Hobgood.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Hobgood of Fayetteville,
No services are planned.
Arrangements are by Moore's Chapel.
