*Obituary

Mrs. Delilah Jones, for 52 years a resident of Scotland and one of the county's oldest and best known women, died Tuesday night, Dec. 21, 1920, aged 88 years and 9 days. Interment took place at Pleasant Grove cemetery, services being conducted ny Hon. m.B. Lefler of Clinton, a warm personal friend of the family of many years standing.
"Grandma Jones", as known by all, was born in Hickman County, Tenn., Dec.11, 1832. On March 30, 1854, she was united in marriage with Dr. T.H. Jones, with whom she lived happily for 43 years, or until time of the latter's death.
Two years following their marriage, Dr. and Mrs. Jones moved from Tennessee to this state, locating in Conway County, where the resided for some 12 years, when they moved to Scotland, this county, it being the home of both until time of their deaths.
"Grandma" professed faith in Christ and identified herself with the missionary Baptist Church more than 60 years ago, and her life ever afterwards was a daily testimonial of the faith she professed. She was indeed a good woman and will be sadly missed, but the influence of her life will never die.
To her and her husband, 12 children were born, eight of whom survive. These have the profound sympathy of inumerable friends here and elsewhere.
