*Obituary - George Thomas Amerson
George Thomas Amerson, 88, of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Clarksville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at The Arbors at Bluff Creek Alzheimer’s Assisted Living in Columbia, MO.
He was born January 8, 1928 in Wadley, Georgia, youngest child of the late Stephen Harkless and Rosa Lillian (Walker) Amerson.
Mr. Amerson was a World War II Veteran of the US Navy and was honorably discharged in August of 1946.
George was united in marriage to Anna Elizabeth Kidd, RN, on March 5, 1950 in Macon, Georgia.
Dr. Amerson received his B.S. in Industrial Education from Arizona State College (now Northern Arizona University). He received his M.S. in Secondary Education from University of Oregon. He received his Ed.D in Special Education from the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR. Dr. Amerson retired from Illinois State University as a professor and educator.
George had a variety of hobbies, from gardening to Amateur Radio Operator, photographer, former member of the Riverblenders Barbershop Quartet, former member of Belle Grove #410 Masonic Lodge in Ludwig, Arkansas.
George and Ann resided and traveled far and wide, from Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Arizona, California, Oregon, Idaho, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Western Australia, Texas, Illinois and settled in Arkansas and called it their home.
Mr. Amerson is survived by one son, George T. Jr. “Tom” and wife Marsha E. Amerson of Columbia, Mo; grandson Keith D. Amerson and granddaughter Michele A. (Amerson) Curtis; two great-grand daughters, Kelsey D. Amerson and Makinzie A. Curtis, all of Columbia; one sister-in-law, Evelyn T. (Kidd) Hewitt, Los Alamos, NM. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Amerson was preceded in death by his wife Anna E. Amerson and son William Michael Amerson; his parents; 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
Our family would like to thank Preferred Hospice and all the fantastic staff at the Arbors, for their wonderful care of Dad and our Pop. Thanks to all the wonderful ladies for your loving care of George, Poppers, Pop Pop and Pops.
A memorial service will be Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville, Arkansas, with Brother Leo Villines officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Airy Memorial Cemetery, Ludwig, Arkansas.

*Obituary - Anna Elizabeth Amerson
Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Amerson, 86, of Clarksville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Clarksville at Clarksville Regional Medical Center. She was born October 21, 1928 in Vienna, Georgia, to William Robert and Blanche (McDowell) Kidd.
Anna was a strong and loving person that was the glue that held her family together. She was a retired RN which led to her lifetime of being a caregiver all over the country and also in Perth, Australia. Anna enjoyed crafts, and gardening and was a member of Full Gospel Church in Ozone. She married George Thomas Amerson on March 4, 1950, in Macon, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, William Michael Amerson; sister, Katherine Kidd; brothers, Virgle Clyde Kidd, JD Kidd, and William Robert Kidd, Jr., and sister-in-law, Liesel Kidd.
She is survived by her husband, George T. Amerson of Clarksville; son, George T. "Tom" Amerson Jr. and wife, Marsha of Columbia, MO; granddaughter, Michele Curtis of Columbia, MO; grandson, Keith Amerson of Columbia, MO; great-granddaughters, Kelsey Amerson and Makinzie Curtis also of Columbia, MO; sister, Evelyn Hewitt of Los Alamos, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 10:00a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Don Carey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home (479) 754-2201.

*Obituary - William Michael Amerson
William Michael Amerson has passed away and left behind family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
The family of Michael will have a memorial service for him at The Gate Way Church of Christ, Monday, June 28, 1999 at 1:00 pm.
Mike's ashes were scattered at his favorite fishing spot in Florida.
