Jane Moore, age 82 of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in North Little Rock after a brief unexpected illness. She was born February 13, 1930 in Ladoga, Indiana to the late James Ernest and Thelma Carver Myers. Jane graduated from the St. Louis City Hospital School of Nursing. It was there that she met Dr. Rex Norman Moore. On November 24, 1954 they were married in St. Louis, Missouri. They moved to Jacksonville in 1962. Following her nursing career, Jane devoted her life caring for her husband and being very active with her children's school activities and functions. Jane was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. She was cherished by her dear friends, the Needle Nuts who traveled and sewed together for more than forty years. Jane was a very active member of her local bridge club. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Manning; infant son, James Dewey Moore and her sister, Vivian Kalweit. She is survived by her husband, Rex Moore of the home; daughter, Sandy Moore of Little Rock; two sons, Jeff Moore of Chicago, Illinois, Dave Moore of Gravel Ridge, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Josh Moore of Jacksonville and his wife and daughter, Erin and Emily Patricia Moore (Jane's only great grandchild), Shanna Haney of Jacksonville, Katie and Grant Moore and their mother Barbara Hostetler, all living in Madison, Wisconsin, Indigo Anderson-Moore of Little Rock. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Friends of Animal Village, 7401 Colonel Glen Road,#4026, Little Rock, Arkansas 72214. www.friendsoftheanimalvillage.org. Rex N. Moore, MD died peacefully on December 25, 2016. Born during the Great Flood of 1927, he always considered himself “just a poor country boy.” Rex loved his family and travel, and he was a damn fine doctor. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Moore, and his daughter, Trisha Manning,
He is survived by three children, Sandy Moore, Jeff Moore (Armand) and Dave Moore. Rex also leaves behind five grandchildren, Josh Moore (Erin), Shanna Haney, Katie Moore, Indigo Anderson-Moore and Grant Moore, as well as two great-grandchildren Emily Moore and Elizabeth Moore. Rex held special affection for his University of Arkansas Medical School Class of ’52 classmates, his lifelong friend, Doris Faulkner, and daughter of the heart, Barbara Hostetler. In his final months, his immediate caregivers learned what we already knew. He was a kind and gentle man.
