Larry Dale Stroud, 56, of Clarksville died Friday, July 8, 2005, at his home.

He was born August 15, 1948, in Wenatchee, Wash., to Rayburn and Oveta Hall Stroud. He graduated from Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Ark., and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He then served in the U. S. Army for two years during the Vietnam War before returning to work in Little Rock for the Arkansas State Revenue Office. After five years in Little Rock, he moved to Clarksville in 1978 to become the clinic administrator for Clarksville Medical Group where he worked for the past 27 years.

Larry devoted his life to Clarksville Medical Group. The doctors, nurses, employees and their families will remember his sacrifices and contributions, large and small, for the rest of their lives.

Larry was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was a regular attendee of the early service. He was also a longtime member of the Lone Pine Social Club and often held forth in defense of NASCAR and his favorite driver, Mark Martin.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Pee Wee Harkreader Stroud; one daughter, Holly Vinson of Batesville; two brothers, Kenneth Stroud of Batesville and Harold Stroud of Jonesboro; father-in-law, J. R. Harkreader; mother-in-law, Dorothy Harkreader; two grandsons, Garrett Yeager and Tanner Vinson; and one stepgrandson, Hunter Vinson, all of Batesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayburn and Oveta Hall Stroud; and one brother, Keith Stroud of Batesville.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville. Interment was in Hartman Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

The pallbearers include Clint Bacchus, Kent Cecil, Don Cowell, Matt Fleetwood, Dr. Mike Hillis, Dr. Ben Jacobs, Jack Patterson II, and Jerry Wagoner.

Janet "Pee-Wee" Harkreader Stroud was born May 28, 1958 in Ozark, Arkansas to J.R. and Dorothy Acord Harkreader.

She passed away on November 8, 2019 in Clarksville, Arkansas at the age of 61. She was a nurse for more than 41 years and she was a member of the Hartman Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Larry Stroud.

She is survived by her sisters, Linda Sue Harkreader of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Peggy Holmes of Louisiana; her twin sister, Jane Harkreader Burgess of Clarksville, Arkansas; her special nephew, Dillon Burgess and wife, Savannah of Hartman, Arkansas; her special great-nephew and great-niece; Abel Burgess and Maedie Burgess of Hartman, Arkansas.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Hardwicke Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.

Funeral Services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Hardwicke Chapel with Denton Tumbleson officiating. Burial will follow at Hartman Cemetery in Hartman, Arkansas.

The family sends a special thank you to Dr. John Dunham, Dr. Janelle Burch, Dr. Sarah Woodruff, Jess Jordan, APRN, Dr. Thomas Sneed, and all the clinic staff at Clarksville Medical Group.
