Vergie Ester Poyner of Clarksville, Arkansas was born on May 15, 1944 in Wynne, Arkansas to Cecil Sams and Flossie Kelly. She passed away on May 27, 2020 in Russellville, Arkansas at the age of 76. She was a member of the Faith Builders Clarksville Church in Clarksville, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Sams and Flossie Kelly; her brother, Willard Sams; and her sister, Edith Sams.
She is survived by her son, Larry Gale Price, Jr.; her daughter, Deborah Jean Davis; her brothers, Jim Sams; Larry Sams; Raymond Kelly, Daymond Kelly; her sisters, Alma Isabell, Imogene McClung, Jewel Fox, Sharon Lehman, Verna Larkin; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
An open viewing is from 8 a.m. until noon, Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, Arkansas.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Faith Builders Clarksville with Pastor Marie Price officiating. Burial will follow at West Mt. Zion Cemetery in Hartman, Arkansas. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Sams, Larry Price, Alex Grover, Brandon Davis, Travis Davis, Larry Price, Jr., Larry Davis, Jim Sams, and Samuel Price.
