BELLA VISTA — Jean Neill, age 95, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away Jan. 4, 2020. She was born Aug. 30, 1924, to Frank and Verla Jessop in Lyndon, Kan.
Jean grew up in Lyndon with her sister Carolyn and brother, Frank where their parents owned the IGA Grocery Store. Jean attended Washburn University in Topeka, Kan.
She married Hobert Neill in July 1945 after Hobe returned from WWII. Jean and Hobe lived in Kansas City for 30 years raising their two children, Susan and Keith. Jean was a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher and school volunteer. She also worked in the middle school library and as the school bookkeeper.
Hobe and Jean retired to Bella Vista in 1983. They were members of Bella Vista Community Church. Hobe passed away in 1990. Jean volunteered at the Bella Vista Public Library for 30 years. She also volunteered as a Stephen Minister. Jean loved reading, playing bridge and golf. She was a recent resident of Concordia of Bella Vista.
Left to cherish her memories are her children Susan (Richard) Williams and Keith (Julia) Neill; grandchildren, Russell Williams and Elizabeth (Jonathan) Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Molly Wolfe; sister, Carolyn (Don) Burns; and brother, Frank (Carol) Jessop.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, at Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, with Dr. Anna Teel officiating. A private burial will be at Bella Vista Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Public Library, 11 Dickens Place, Bella Vista, Ark. 72714.
