ROGERS— Walter Henry Schrader, 79, of Rogers died Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at his residence. He was born Oct. 29, 1941, in Osborne, Kan., the son of Effie Mae and Edward Wesley Schrader.
He enjoyed building new construction, spending quality time with his family and friends from his church. He was employed by Daisy Manufacturing for 31 years, before opening Honeysuckle Construction Company, where he developed and built many Northwest Arkansas neighborhoods.
He was a member of Lowell Baptist for many years. He was a Gideon for over 50 years. He was a deacon for the church for over 60 years. He served in the Rogers Noon Lions Club for over 45 years, also he received the Melvin Jones Service Award for his service to the Lions Club.
He served for over 15 years for the Rogers School Board. He served on the Arvest Community Bank Board for several years. He was a graduate of the first Dale Carnegie Class held in Rogers. He was added in 2014 to the Educator's Hall of Fame from the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce. He received the Elbert S. Graham/Elza Tucker Award for his service to his community from the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Schrader, in 2011; his parents; brother Eddie Schrader; sister Beulah Mitchell; niece Diana Tucker; and his chosen daughter, Sonia Stanfill.
Walter is survived by son Michael Clark Schrader and wife Robin of Lowell; daughters Salena Wright-Brown of Lowell and Jennifer Yaffe of Lowell; grandchildren Megan Schrader and fiance Thomas Baker, both of Austin, Texas, Preston Schrader of Rogers, Parker Zielinski of Rogers, Simon Yaffe of Tulsa, Okla., and Hannah Yaffe of Lowell; great-grandchildren Christian Zielinski of Rogers, Jaxon Yaffe of Lowell, Denver Miller of Lowell and Mila Yaffe of Ponca City, Okla.
Visitation will be Monday, May 10, 2021, from 10-11 a.m. at Lowell Baptist Church.
A celebration of Walter's life will begin at 11 a.m. at Lowell Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Thomas and Rev. Ben Rowell. Interment will be at Rogers Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Preston Schrader, Parker Zielinski, Christian Zielinski, Simon Yaffe, Aaron Pile and Greg Stanfill. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Daniel, Terry Littrell, James McGarrah, Roger Hankins, David Matthews, Eddie Faucet, Charles Bowen, Pastor Johnny Harp and Fred Vanzent.

LOWELL — Virginia L. Schrader passed away on Feb. 13, 2011, at her home surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 4, 1939, to Enoch Drymon and Salem Johns Drymon in Lowell, Ark. She was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas.
She was a 1958 graduate of Rogers High School where she was a member of the Future Homemakers of America, the Library Club and enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball.
She married Walter Schrader on Nov. 9, 1958. In 2008, Walter and Virginia celebrated a joy-filled 50th wedding anniversary. Virginia spent many years as partner and secretary/treasurer of Honeysuckle Construction Inc., a company which developed five subdivisions and built houses throughout Northwest Arkansas. She became a member of the First Baptist Church in Lowell in February of 1959 and was a longtime dedicated servant to the church and community. She became the Sunday school secretary 50 years ago, serving first with her mentor Edith Neil and later with her friend, Sonja Daniel. She shared much with her church family. She and longtime friend, Edith Pack Knackstedt, started a visitation mission where they cheered, supported and prayed for those in need in their homes, hospitals or nursing homes. Virginia and Ms. Pack also started a benevolence mission for the Lowell Elementary School which grew into a church-wide effort that mow supports Lowell Elementary and the Elza Tucker Elementary Schools. In addition to countless other acts of support for Vacation Bible School, Sunday school, fellowship activities, food pantry and more, Virginia was most proud of serving on the Pulpit Committee that interviewed and then presented the call to pastor for Brother Gary Thomas, who continues to pastor the First Baptist Church in Lowell nearly 20 years Later.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Walter; three children; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; daughter, Salem Wright-Brown and husband James of Lowell; grandson, Parker Zielinski wife Ricketta with great-grandchildren Christian and Kendra; son, Michael Schrader and wife Robin of Rogers with grandchildren Megan and Preston; daughter, Jennifer Yaffe of Ponca City, Okla., with grandchildren Simon, Hannah, Joseph and Jared Yaffe with his wife Jennie and great-grandson, Jaikcob.
She is also survived by four brothers, Chester Drymon and wife Rose of Springdale; Clifford Drymon and Cecil Drymon of Lowell, and Clinton Drymon of Conroe, Texas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family who she enjoyed and loved dearly. She is also survived by two daughters in Christ, Penny Sims and Sonia Stanfill of Lowell and son in Christ, David Matthews of Lowell. She enjoyed the companionship of dear friends and sisters in Christ, Sonja Daniel, Edith Pack, and Billie Stanphill. She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest brother, Carol Drymon.
Ms. Virginia had a gift of loving others and she found ways to support and encourage many, including the numerous people she called "my boys and my girls." She touched the lives of many and will be missed. The family would like to share their sincere gratitude for the blessings of friends and family during her illness. The cards, letters, food, outpouring of concern, prayers and other kindnesses too numerous to mention have sustained us in difficult times and we cherish you. Thank you to Doctors Gary Neaville, Stephan Rosenfeld, Arnold Smith and the staff at Highlands Oncology/ Radiology. A special thanks to Circle of Life Hospice. Their dedicated staff will always be appreciated for the support they provided.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Lowell on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. with Brother Gary Thomas and Brother Ben Rowell. The faintly request for those who wish to make a memorial to consider the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church, Lowell at P.O. Box 246, Lowell, AR 72745.
