When Mary Ellen Latture was born on February 18, 1875, in Jackson, Alabama, her father, James, was 26, and her mother, Martha, was 24. She married Luther Bennett Harvey on December 25, 1892, in White, Arkansas. They had 11 children in 25 years. She died on December 3, 1962, at the age of 87.
