Evelyn M. Hewitt, 85, of Jacksonville died Friday, October 3, 2014. She was born in Johnson County, North Carolina to the late Laurice and Melba Daisy Coates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Coates. Mrs. Hewitt is survived by her husband of 44 years, James D. Hewitt, a daughter, Sue Wood of Texas and a host of grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2014 with a graveside service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Park mausoleum under the direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136.
